Diesel Start Tip
Roger Gutschmidt, Gackle, N.D.: “I have a tip for anyone with a diesel that has a weak battery or is otherwise hard to start. I was working on a customer’s diesel and, as I started it, happened to turn the steering wheel. It started right up.
  “I realized that turning the steering wheel gave the hydraulic oil a place to go, reducing the effort needed to start the engine.”
