Homemade Battery Cable Connector FARM SHOP Miscellaneous Larry Wood Waldo Ohio: “I was using my riding mower recently and turned off the engine so I could pick up some sticks in the yard When I got back on I couldn’t get the mower started “I opened the hood and found that an eyelet on the end of a cable from the battery to the starter was broken I didn’t have a new eyelet that large so I made one using a 2-in long 3/8-in dia soft copper pipe I hammered one end of the pipe flat and drilled a 5/6-in dia hole through it then soldered it to the battery cable I was back mowing in just 20 min and it saved me a trip to town ”
